The
Hartford region is located in north central Connecticut
midway between Boston and New York City. Interstates I-84
and I-91 intersect the region with I-95 and I-90 in close
proximity. Greater Hartford is home to Bradley International
Airport, one of the nation's fastest growing airports and
the second largest in New England.
The Hartford Labor Market encompasses Hartford, Tolland, and
Middlesex counties, representing a population of 1,148,618
and a labor force of 600,323. The Hartford region enjoys the
2nd most productive labor force in the world and ranks 1st
in GDP per capita.
Hartford serves as the headquarters for several Fortune 500
companies, including United Technologies Corporation, The
Hartford Financial Group, Aetna Inc, and Northeast
Utilities. Hailed as ¿the insurance capital of the world,¿
Greater Hartford is home to corporate headquarters or

The Hartford economy is dominated by several other
